衛星リモートセンシングによる森林調査

長期的な森林管理や森林の利用計画の策定に際しては，「どこに，どのような森林が，どれだけ存在するのか，さらにそれらの経時的な変化はどうか。」などの情報を素早く入手する必要がある。これらの情報源として，今や衛星リモートセンシングデータは欠かせない。そこで，まず，森林，林業情報の特徴と衛星データ利用の方向について述べた。つづいて，松枯れ被害林や伐採跡地の抽出の試みと，流域森林管理などへの応用例を紹介した。
HIGASHI Toshio: Forest survey by satellite remote sensing.
At the time of long term forest management and the
decision of forest utilization plan, it is necessary to obtain the information
quickly, where are what kinds of forests present by what extent and so on. As
the source of these informations, now satellite remote sensing data are
indispensable. Therefore first, the characteristics of forest and forestry
informations and the direction of utilizing satellite data were offered. Subsequently,
the attempt of extracting the forests in which the damage of pine wilt disease
and the cutover area by using satellite data, and the examples of application
to watershed management were reported.
